With Halloween madness descending on the citizens of New York City this Sunday, October 31st, Basic NYC’s Sleepy & Boo return to Cielo for another night of twisted grooves. They are bringing their own “Sleepy & Boo + Friends” party back to the celebrated Meatpacking District nightclub for their fourth night of top-notch dancefloor-filling tech-house beats. Just a few blocks away from the Greenwich Village Halloween parade, Cielo’s cozy dancefloor and awe-inspiring Funktion One sound system is the perfect place to celebrate this frightfest. For this spooktacular night, Cielo is offering free entry before midnight to all guests who RSVP on Sleepy & Boo’s guest list.

For over six years, Sleepy & Boo have been an integral part of New York’s electronic music and nightlife culture. They are the co-founders of Basic NYC, which has served as their platform for presenting international guest DJs in New York, with a long-running Saturday night residency at the Sullivan Room. The event was named New York’s “Best Dance Party” by New York magazine in 2009, and has featured a breathtaking range of DJs, covering the full spectrum of house and techno. As the residents, Sleepy & Boo are well known for setting the musical mood with their opening and closing sets, complimenting the headliners and adding their own musical twist to the night.

But Sleepy & Boo’s range as DJs extends far beyond their own residency. They are regularly asked to DJ at many of New York’s top nightclubs and electronic music events, and work closely with all the city’s leading production groups. They’ve dropped mesmerizing sets at events as diverse as the Electric Zoo Festival (both editions), Ibiza’s legendary Space terrace, as well as numerous opening sets at Pacha, Santos Party House and Cielo to name a few venues.. From deep house to tough techno, Sleepy & Boo’s expansive, genre-crossing sets feature the best labels, sounds and producers creating the cutting-edge dance music of the moment.

Joining Sleepy & Boo on this night is the “Munch Machine” (aka Peter Munch). The Denmark native turned New Yorker is no Cielo stranger, where he is a regular guest at Francois K’s long-running Deep Space night, and has opened for fellow Dane Trentemøller. An experienced producer, Peter’s music has been released on Cosmopolitan Records and Quarterlife Records. Opening up the party  will be the Love Sound Project duo of DBow and Chris Love, whose house sounds have made them regulars at many Basic NYC Sullivan Room parties. They are the resident DJs at their weekly SOUP Fridays at the East Village’s Stay, and will be making their Cielo  debut at this party.

Come in a costume or come as you are, but come before midnight for free entry on Sleepy & Boo’s guest list. After three outstanding prior Cielo nights, the duo is very excited for this Halloween night edition. The energy and electricity in the air for Halloween in New York is undeniable, and they’ll be channeling that spirit right back into the dancefloor this Sunday.
